A friend of Mom's lives in Charleston, S.C. and she has two horses and so because of Irma, the hurricane, she moved the horses up here since we are inland. So the donkeys think it is great fun have some nice horses around.
Their names are Sushi, on this side and Sinbad on the other side. Those masks on their faces are fly masks to keep the bugs off of their faces so they don't injure their eyes itching the bugs.Sushi has already had to have an eye removed a while back.
Unfortunately Smoke is a tiny bit worse since he is standing up a lot with all the excitement of the horses being here. Hopefully, all will calm down soon.

Everyone have a super Thursday.
Hopefully you all get to have fun with your new visitors. Never knew that about horses and bugs. Stinkin bugs.
ReplyDeleteI am glad the horses are in a safer place from the hurricane. All the horses wear fly masks here also. It is sad that Sushi had to have an eye removed because of them.
ReplyDeleteSilly Smoke should realise he will feel better taking the weight of his hooves, but of course you can't tell animals what is best for them. Does he have bute to help with the pain? I hope he soon improves. Give him a hug for me, or if he prefers it, a back scratch!
Thank goodness the horses aren't in that hurricane.
ReplyDeletePoor Smoke, i hope he settles and gets better before the visitors have to go home. Also i hope they have a nice visit and it turns out to simply be a precaution. If that pesky storm moves into the North Atlantic and breaks up, i will be a happy camper!
ReplyDeleteAt least they've given everyone plenty of time to prepare for the storm, but still hoping it somehow goes in some other direction! Get better, Smoke!
ReplyDeleteHow nice that you were able to take in Sushi and Simbad. We're purring for all those affected by this hurricane. And for Smoke too...we hope he feels better.
ReplyDeleteOh, how wonderful that Sushi and Sinbad are safe with you. We can imagine how excited Joe and Smoke must be. But, Smoke, rest those hooves! We are still sending many prayers for Smoke!
ReplyDeleteSo kind of you to offer shelter. My cousin had to move her horses out of the mountains down to her boyfriend's Mom's little ranch inland in California due to all the fire danger. It's been a rough year for the animals between storms and fires.
ReplyDeleteThat was sweet of you to provide shelter for them. My neighbor used to have a horse named Sushi that used to get loose and come to our yard. I hope Smoke feels better soon.
ReplyDeleteI hope everyone stays safe. Prayers!
ReplyDeleteThey are lucky to have you to be able to have their horses somewhere safe. We are quite worried about Irma, we have family in Miami and Plantation..............Miami is the one I am most worried about. Praying for everyone and purrs and prayers for Smoke that things calm down so he can get better xoxo
ReplyDeleteSushi and Sinbad are beautiful! So nice of you to help out with Irma coming.

How wonderful that you are helping the horses (and their mom!) out with the storm looming. I sure hope Smoke takes it easy on those feet. I know---all that excitement is just too tempting!
ReplyDeleteThose horses found a good place to be with you. They must know your background. xx And glad to see the fly masks. I have felt badly for horses with out them. Other animals too.
ReplyDeleteSmoke Honey, listen to your feets! Stay off them.
ReplyDeletewe are glad you were able to offer them a safe place to stay
ReplyDeleteHow nice that you are able to have the visitors stay so they can avoid the worst of the hurricane.
ReplyDeleteThat's very nice to have company and offer a safe place to friends. We hope Irma is not going to be as bad the predictions. Smoke, take a load off, buddy!

ReplyDeleteHow nice of you to have the horses stay with you with the potential arrival of Irma. We have our friend from Beaufort coming to stay with us during this hurricane.
ReplyDeleteWe're glad those horses are safe at your house! We hope where they came from is spared from the hurricane. Sending continued purrs for Smoke.
ReplyDeleteThis post makes us happy, Marg. So glad the horses are staying until that stoopid Irma flies over. Pawkisses for a thankful day😘❤😻
ReplyDeleteBe safe everyone❤❤❤
DeleteThe storm sounds so ominous for so many. We hope it takes a really big turn to the right and misses all of the mainland. You are good to help that lady with her horses. And poor Smoke, we hope he will be better very soon.
