Ways to help with the poor animals in Texas.

We so feel sorry for all the shelter pets that need help during this horrible Hurricane Harvey.
Some very nice people are getting together  and starting an auction.
Austin Pets Alive is helping the shelter pets who would otherwise be destroyed by shelters unwilling or unable to transport them to safety.
Here is the site for the auction.
Auction for shelter animals.
They need both donations and items for the auction.

Thanks everyone for looking.

Have a super duper day.

  6. That is so sad that pets would be destroyed by shelters not wanting to hold them for those in need.

  9. Many people forget about the animals in times like these. People who wait the last minute to evacuate often leave their pets to grim fates when the humans have a hard to escaping

  15. Thank you for sharing this! I hadn't heard about it. I've heard in past catastrophes, people weren't allowed to bring their pets inside the temporary shelters and I can't even imagine having to choose shelter or your furbaby.

  16. The situation here in Texas is just devastating. So much destruction, so much need. Many of the folks have tried hard to save their pets, but we are so grateful to all the organizations who are trying to help them too. Mom says we will be doing our part too with some green papers.

  17. There's such a great need, i'm glad to know directly from friends which groups are legitimate. It makes me angry to find so many try to misuse donations.

  19. I clicked on the links - got taken to a web page where several individuals are running individual fund raisers for the shelter and one link that took me to a commercial auction site that didn't help me select donating items to just them. It was beyond confusing I'm afraid and I couldn't find any information as to where or how to send the auction items and the auction has already started. I'm donating to shelters individually through their official site instead.

    1. I totally agree with you. I had no idea it was going to be like that. Too bad since it is a good idea. I couldnt figure out how to bid either. Sorry about that.
