Hi everyone, Joe here, and Smoke and I love to come back here under the trees since that is where all the yummy acorns are and we scarf them up.
Hi Everyone, Smoke here and I am headed out to the acorns. Those are great snacks.
Smoke here again and this looks like great green grass but it isn't. It is old and just not tasty any more so I am going back to find some more acorns.

ReplyDeleteDonkey Saturday is my favorite day of the week! Yay! You guys are so lucky to be able to eat acorns. I am not allowed to eat them, but I keep trying. And it's really tough to walk past one without sniffing it. Mom says this explains a lot. She has decided I am part donkey. ....I am a little stubborn...

Hi Joe and Smoke! Do you only eat the acorns when they have ripened? We have to keep the horses out of the fields with oak trees if the acorns fall while still green to avoid tannin poisoning.
ReplyDeleteIt is usually instinct for older animals to avoid them when they are poisonous, but we have a couple of youngsters who would likely eat them if they could.
Happy snacking!
ReplyDeleteI had no idea acorns were so tasty!
ReplyDeleteWe didn't know donkeys liked acorns. We hope you two find lots of them.
ReplyDeleteWe love looking at you. You remind us of the two donkeys that used to live here.
