Feral Cat Friday

Hi there Bees here, and I am Tees and Oh's brother. Momma kitty who is very feral is our Mom. I am a little tame in that I will let the Person pat me sometimes. I get very nervous about it. I have learned to sleep on the porch in one of the chairs and really like it there.
Here is some information from the great organization called
And they help a lot of feral cats find homes in barns etc.
What is the difference between a stray cat and a feral cat??

Stray cats are socialized to people and can be adopted into homes, but feral cats are not socialized to people and are happy living outdoors.
A stray cat:
  • Is a cat who has been socialized to people at some point in her life, but has left or lost her indoor home, as well as most human contact and dependence.
  • Can become feral as her contact with humans dwindles.
  • Can under the right circumstances become a pet cat once again. Stray cats that are re-introduced to a home after living outdoors may require a period of time to re-acclimate; they may be frightened and wary after spending time outside away from people.
A feral cat:
  • Is a cat who has either never had any contact with humans or her contact with humans has diminished over time. She is not socialized to people and survives on her own outdoors. Most feral cats are not likely to ever become lap cats or enjoy living indoors.
  • Can have kittens who can be socialized at an early age and adopted into homes.
Here I am looking very calm and happy.Feral cats can make great pets if they are caught as little kittens.

Hope everyone has a great Friday and a better Week end.

  30. My last cat was so happy living outside and catching her own dinners... even though we fed her, I still think she caught preferred catching her own food. She was very friendly and liked it inside sometimes, especially the winter time.

  33. Bees! Yous is a terrific looking cat! Wes does not has many feral cats here, they gets eaten by the coyotes or the owls.
There are a number of semi-ferals that lives like barn cats at some of the barns around town. These guys not only has the job of keeping the rodents down, but they also gets fed regular and is spayed and neutered.
