Maggie's day

Maggie came to us by sort of an accident. I was driving by this house right around the corner from us  and saw a nice house with a bunch of cats on their porch. I asked a friend about it and it turns out the woman had moved out and left most of the cats. She did take some of them and was going over there and leaving piles of dry food and of course the ants were getting into the food. So of course I had to stick my nose into this deal. I did see the woman over there one day and had seen Maggie an asked the woman if it would be all right if I took her home. She told me that I would never catch her.

This is Maggie when I was trying to catch her. I would go over there a couple times a day and feed her in the carrier and eventually she did go in and I shut the door and brought her home. I put her in  the extra bedroom and got her spayed. It didn't take long and she came out under the door.
As you can see Maggie did well on the good living. Now this is the sad part of the story. I had no idea that she had kittens. I went back to the house to see if any more cats were there. Well there were three little kittens on the porch. Since this was someone's else's property I didn't catch them right away. I went back the next day with intention of getting them and two were dead (probably a dog got them) and did get Mahoney. I felt terrible about not getting them all.
Maggie enjoying the good life. Mahoney's story is tomorrow.

  8. She's a beautiful tabby! You can only do your best when you're trying to clean up after someone else. I have a few sore spots too and never forget, but worse than what happened would have been to ignore it and walk away.
