Our Lucky boy, the gray and while one, is in kidney failure and this week end he really got sick. I took him to the vet and they gave him a pain killer which had a bad affect on him. He just sat and stared in space for 24 hours. Then finally on Monday morning he finally came out of it.
He is resting here on the mat with his friend Ohs. He is eating really well now and a friend helped me give him fluids today. So hopefully he will keep going for awhile now. I have found something that he really likes to eat.
So we are just so thankful that he has made a turn for the better for now.

Happy Thursday to all.

ReplyDeleteAw, poor Lucky. Kidney failure is such a rough road. They feel bad with eating, feel bad without eating....you just can't win. I am thinking of both you and Lucky today and hope all goes well with the fluids and he feels better for a bit.

We're sorry to hear about Lucky. Sending purrs that he continues to feel better after the fluids. Hugs to you too, mom.
ReplyDeleteMany, many purrs and prayers to Lucky and yourself, Marg! It sounds like you had a couple of scary days, but we are so glad to hear that Lucky is now eating much better. Keep up with that eating, Lucky! I remember searching and searching for a food my angel Rosie would eat when she was in chronic renal failure. I finally found one kind she really liked, and that (along with her beloved baby food) pretty much made up her entire diet. I also gave her sub-q fluids at home every single day, and she became so accustomed to it that she and I would just sit on the couch and watch TV while she got them. Hugs!
ReplyDeleteIt's so hard when they get sick. You feel so helpless. All we can do is provide what care we can along with a huge dose of love. You'll do all that.
ReplyDeleteHave a purrfect Thankful Thursday. My best to your mom. ♥♥♥
