Our Hurricane visitors.

A friend of Mom's lives in Charleston, S.C. and she has two horses and so because of Irma, the hurricane, she moved the horses up here since we are inland. So the donkeys think it is great fun have some nice horses around.
Their names are Sushi, on this side and Sinbad on the other side. Those masks on their faces are fly masks to keep the bugs off of their faces so they don't injure their eyes itching the bugs.Sushi has already had to have an eye removed a while back.

Unfortunately Smoke is a tiny bit worse since he is standing up a lot with all the excitement of the horses being here. Hopefully, all will calm down soon.

We would also like to join all for Thankful Thursday. We are always thankful for all our blogging friends and just in general for blogging.

Everyone have a super Thursday.

  2. I am glad the horses are in a safer place from the hurricane. All the horses wear fly masks here also. It is sad that Sushi had to have an eye removed because of them.
Silly Smoke should realise he will feel better taking the weight of his hooves, but of course you can't tell animals what is best for them. Does he have bute to help with the pain? I hope he soon improves. Give him a hug for me, or if he prefers it, a back scratch!

  3. Thank goodness the horses aren't in that hurricane.

  4. Poor Smoke, i hope he settles and gets better before the visitors have to go home. Also i hope they have a nice visit and it turns out to simply be a precaution. If that pesky storm moves into the North Atlantic and breaks up, i will be a happy camper!

  5. At least they've given everyone plenty of time to prepare for the storm, but still hoping it somehow goes in some other direction! Get better, Smoke!

  7. Oh, how wonderful that Sushi and Sinbad are safe with you. We can imagine how excited Joe and Smoke must be. But, Smoke, rest those hooves! We are still sending many prayers for Smoke!

  8. So kind of you to offer shelter. My cousin had to move her horses out of the mountains down to her boyfriend's Mom's little ranch inland in California due to all the fire danger. It's been a rough year for the animals between storms and fires.

  9. That was sweet of you to provide shelter for them. My neighbor used to have a horse named Sushi that used to get loose and come to our yard. I hope Smoke feels better soon.

  26. The storm sounds so ominous for so many. We hope it takes a really big turn to the right and misses all of the mainland. You are good to help that lady with her horses. And poor Smoke, we hope he will be better very soon.
